A LITTLE ABOUT
Dr. Praveen Islur (DDS)
Meet Dr. Praveen Islur! Dr. Islur was born and raised in Toronto. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Western Ontario where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree. He then initiated his dental education at New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. To further his education in dentistry and refine his dental techniques, Dr. Islur earned a 2-year General Practice Residency Certificate from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, New York. After years of enduring the harsh winters of Ontario and New York State, he travelled north west to Vancouver BC, in search of a warmer climate.
Dr. Islur has continued his dental education in private practice as a previous or current member of several dental study clubs, including: The Renaissance Study Club, The Northwest Dental Club, The California Center for Advanced Dental Studies, Nobel Biocare Esthetic Alliance Program, and Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Treatment & Education in Dentistry.
Finally, Dr. Islur has been an Invisalign Certified Provider since 2007 and believes it is a wonderful alternative to conventional braces when appropriate. He is a member of the British Columbia Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Islur has been a member of the team at Surrey Place Dental Group for over 17 years.
